Account & Data Deletion
This page explains how to delete your Nirapod account and what happens to your data afterwards. You can delete your account yourself from inside the app at any time — no email request or approval is required.
1. Delete Your Account From the App
- Open Nirapod and sign in with the account you want to delete.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Edit Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm your identity when prompted:
- Email accounts — enter your password.
- Google accounts — confirm through the Google sign-in sheet.
- Apple accounts — confirm with your Apple ID. Nirapod also revokes its Sign in with Apple token, so the app no longer appears under your Apple ID's connected apps.
- Confirm the final warning. Deletion begins immediately and you are signed out.
2. Request Deletion by Email
If you can no longer sign in — for example you lost access to your email or Apple ID — send a deletion request to rxalphatech@gmail.com with the subject line "Nirapod Account Deletion Request", from the email address registered to the account, including:
- the email address (or sign-in method) used for the account;
- your display name in the app;
- any detail that helps us confirm ownership, such as the approximate date you joined.
We may ask for additional verification before deleting an account, to make sure someone else cannot erase your data. Verified requests are completed within 30 days, and we confirm by email once the deletion is done.
3. What Gets Deleted
The following are permanently deleted when your account is removed:
- Your authentication record (email, password credential, and any Google or Apple provider link).
- Your profile: name, email address, phone number, profile photo and photo file in storage.
- Your trust score, verification status, push notification token and area alert subscriptions.
- Your entire in-app notification and alert history.
- Your confirmation and flag votes on other users' reports.
4. What Is Kept, and Why
Nirapod is a public safety record. Removing past incident data would leave other users with an inaccurate picture of which areas are risky, so submitted safety content is kept — but it is detached from your identity:
| Data | What happens on deletion |
|---|---|
| Community posts | Kept; author name and profile photo are cleared, so the post shows as authorless |
| Comments | Kept; author name is cleared |
| Incident reports | Kept as part of the safety record, without a linked profile to display |
| Risk zones | Kept — these are aggregate, cell-level statistics that never identified you; they decay automatically over time |
| Moderation records | Kept where required to prevent abuse and to meet legal obligations |
| Backups and logs | Removed as backups and system logs rotate out, normally within 90 days |
| Analytics events | Aggregated and non-identifying; retained under Firebase's default retention settings |
5. Deleting Individual Content Without Closing Your Account
- Reports — open My Reports from your profile to review everything you have submitted.
- Removing a specific report, post or comment — email us at rxalphatech@gmail.com with a description of the content and the account it was posted from, and a moderator will remove it.
- Profile photo and phone number — clear them under Profile → Edit Profile.
- Location data — revoke the location permission in your device settings; Nirapod only uses location while the app is open.
- Push notifications — turn off notifications for Nirapod in your device settings.
6. Timeline
- Immediately — you are signed out, your profile and photo are removed, and your sign-in credentials stop working.
- Within minutes — a server-side cleanup process removes your notifications and votes and strips your name from remaining public content.
- Within 30 days — email-based deletion requests are completed and confirmed.
- Within 90 days — residual copies in backups and system logs age out.
